Musings on Oracle/Sun re: social networking
Some quick thoughts: Sun has an internal "Corporate Facebook" platform called " SunSpace ". This could help bootstrap an Oracle effort to deliver a dedicated social network site (ala Lotus Connections) to compliment WebCenter (which is more of a portal-centric play for social networking). sweet ). Complimentary to OraTweet.

2009: Planning Considerations For Enterprise 2.0
IBM: Lotus Connections is holding its own but gaps remain (e.g., Sun Project SocialSite : Another project that I find interesting. plans: Enterprise 2.0: Critical Decisions For 2009. SharePoint Next": Call, Raise Or Fold. Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007 (MOSS) is a disappointing platform for social computing in my opinion.

Collaborative Thinking: Lotusphere 2008: What Ill Be Looking For
To-date, I have not been all that satisfied with the top-line messaging around Lotus Connections - I think it relied to much on the "expertise" card and was overly pitched to a CXO level audience. Unfortunately we have not seen the type of third-party portfolio of solutions emerge yet around Lotus Connections.

Collaborative Thinking: Building A Robust Feed Syndication Platform (Part 2)
They do support RSS and Atom (in fact, IBM has been very aggressive with Atom/AtomPub and it is well implemented within Lotus Connections). Lotus Notes/Domino, Connections, Mashups) still does not meet the requirements of a feed syndication platform (as represented in the market by Attensa, KnowNow and NewsGator).
