Technologically Externalized Knowledge and Learning « Connectivism
Pedagogical innovations, as expressed in constructivism (in its many, many shades), do not provide the full force required to pull away from irrelevant ideologies that seek to warp learning to reflect needs of a different age. This conference focuses on information literacy and information behaviour. The researcher was part of the small team that visited the schools to encourage the conversation to take place regularly, about the curriculum (in particular incorporating information skills) and how to meet the project goals.

The teacher's learning goals for this project were to learn about the subject, to learn about planning, scheduling and carrying out work, seeking and using information, and using the computer for learning. Collaborative strategies were used most in questions about the subject and technical projects.

LILAC Day 2: Lesley Burger
She was emphasising the role of public libraries, but also the need for school libraries and information literacy in schools. She gave some examples of public libraries offering services supporting lifelong information literacy skills, including IT skills (Princeton have a Technology Center which offers a lot of training sessions).
