We Are At the Mercy of Those Social Networks
Last week, Twitter went down. Facebook , Twitter , LinkedIn and the rest have zero contractual obligation to you to stay online. Sure we can hop from Twitter to Facebook, but what if Facebook also goes down? If you can’t be real-time on Twitter or Facebook, where will you go and where can your customers find you?

Do Employees Need Social Media Guidelines?
I've written before about some of my thoughts regarding the responsible use of social media and whether or not we can count on people do the right thing when it comes to blogs and Facebook and Twitter. Apparently the VP forgot that employees from FedEx might be following him on Twitter. Not good. What are your thoughts on this?

New SEC guidelines: blogs can be used for investor disclosure - CEO blogging to surge?
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced new guidelines (available in the next week or two) that will recognize the role of blogs in disclosing investor-sensitive information to the public. Blogs hadn't really entered the public lexicon. It is very encouraging to see these moves. It is now dead easy to do.
