Does the Big Question Make Sense Anymore?
I’ve been facilitating the Big Question on ASTD’s Learning Circuit’s blog since sometime in 2006. I've also noticed a trend towards more twitter mentions of blog posts, but less deep commenting behavior much less thoughtful blog responses. One of the comments was really telling: Reading this blog has been an example of snacking for me. I am very interested in the post and thoughts it provokes and read down the comments (skimmed) but when it came to links to other blogs I did not use them. And since many of the responses provided (in comments and via blog posts) suggested

Comparing Twitter Growth to FBook, GOOG
It's Twitter's third birthday, and there's been lots of chatter about Twitter's growth lately, so I thought I'd try to find some context.
Twitter launched in March 2006
Interesting to note the velocity of growth in Twitter's chart, it's clearly picking up. Google (officially) launched in Sept 1998
Three years later it had nearly 18mm US uniques (comscore)

Twitter 3 years on, and why it’s the killer app!
My first post on Twitter was back in October 2006, and since then Twitter has come a long way; evolved from the architecture of participation, and the emergence of the platform . Back in 2006 I called it SMS blogging, but now that’s all changed as the major use is the web and desktop applications (incl. Plus there are so many 3rd party add-ons, and extensions mobile web).

Twitter - The Infrastructure of Context-Driven Social Search, or Flash in the Pan ?
For the most part I have been ambivalent about Twitter for most of the past two years (I’ve used it on and off since November 2006).
To my mind, Twitter replicates the experiences I have often had after blogging for some time … because of my social networks mainly focused on issues, and people who are paying attention to those same issues, there is a regular experience of ”synchronicity”. When I’ve read much of the pros and cons (not all) and understand why some people consider it the best thing since sliced bread, and why others consider it a massive time sink and / or an invitation to get bombarded by unwanted marketing activity.

Predictions 2009
2006 Predictions
2006 How I Did
Twitter will continue its meteoric rise. think Twitter's management team (and its backers) will want to keep the service independent through 2009, both because prices are down but also because I think they want to prove something (this will not keep nearly every major web media company from trying to buy Twitter). By the middle of 2009, the integration Related:
